24 hours in the life of a receptionist..

In the past 24hrs I have checked in about 100 people, portered 53 suitcases up to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors, placed 2 extra beds and 1 babycot, taken about a gazillion phone calls, explained for the 23rd time that no, there is nothing I can do about the malfunction of the only German tv station - es tut mir leid - guided 3 people to the hotel in 3 different languages, explained 80 times that yes, the wifi is free, and no, you don’t need a password get online, put a shitload of reservations into the system and emailed back a dozen people with stupid questions, called about 30 taxi’s, and then cancelled about half of them, unlocked 7 safes, explained how to manage the safe over the phone, called an ambulance, brought an ice pack up to a 76 year old half naked lady, got drunk on one glass of wine, slept for three hours, dragged 53 suitcases back down from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors, - yes madam, we should get a male employee to do this - once again, sorry sir, for nearly hitting you with the trolley - opened the car park barrier 32 times, had a social chat with a man that has the IQ of a peanut, haha, how funny of you sir, that you stepped onto our kids’ check-in step even though you’re already 6ft tall, I’ve never seen ANYONE do that before, explained again that there is nothing I can do about the malfunction of the German tv channel, had about 9 awkward silences in elevators, told people they had to go to another hotel, since we accidentally got overbooked by 2 rooms, did all the slightly more complicated check-outs for my new colleague, booked in 7 breakfasts that should have been booked by the restaurant, rebated about 8 breakfasts, 16 drinks and 2 pizzas that were wrongly booked onto a room bill, made a man pay for his pay TV - you dirty bastard - after a 15min discussion whether or not he had actually watched it, asked 21 people why they didn’t bring better weather on their trip, printed out train timetables to every corner of the country, and did about a ton more things I have now decided to forget.   

I think I should get a pay raise.
